The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

Company Overview

The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is to help cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin disease, and myeloma and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

The LLS is proud to be one of the most efficiently managed nonprofits in the country with more than 72 cents of every dollar spent directly on mission-related activities.

Company History

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was established in 1949 as the de Villiers Foundation, named in memory of Robert Roesler de Villiers, a young man who died of leukemia.

The LLS funds research, patient services, community and professional educational programs, as well as advocacy efforts. As a nonprofit organization, we solely rely on the generosity of individuals, corporations and foundations to advance our mission.

As a result of ongoing research, the relative five-year survival rate has more than tripled in the past 47 years for patients with leukemia.
