Company Overview
POWER offers a full range of gender-responsive, trauma-informed treatment and support services just for women. We believe that empowering women leads to healthy families and strong communities. Research shows that a woman is most successful with her recovery when the care she receives is holistic, strengths-based, and addresses issues like trauma, parenting and childcare, relationships, health, education, employment, and housing.
Licensed Treatment
Our programs and services are created especially to meet the needs of women. Pregnant women
and women with co-occurring disorders are welcome at POWER. We understand the impact of violence
on women's lives and incorporate trauma services in all of our treatment programs.
Services include:
• Screening & assessment
• Individual & group therapy, including expressive arts therapy
• Psychiatric assessment & medication management
• Life skills development classes
• Case management
• Support for 12-Step participation
• Aftercare & discharge planning
• Yoga, tai chi, and mindful meditation
Recovery Support
In addition to providing woman-centered treatment, POWER supports the efforts of recovering women through partnerships with the Allegheny County Office of Children, Youth & Families (CYF) and Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC, and also provides services to women who are high risk, including those who are pregnant, homeless, victims of violence, or involved in the criminal justice system.
Services include:
• Confidential, quality drug and alcohol assessment
• Referral to treatment
• Mentoring
Our goal is to help women gain a deeper understanding of how their use of alcohol or other drugs has impacted their lives, match them to the right treatment program, and assist them in developing natural supports within their own communities.
