Company History
Established in 1874, as the "Home for the Friendless," to care for orphans and abandoned children of the community, our non-profit agency was one of the first incorporated charitable organizations in the North Country. Since our founding by Margaret Platt and a group of local volunteers, we have evolved and grown over the years in response to the ever-changing needs of our community. Our vision is to lead the North Country in the provision of behavioral healthcare through our 25 programs serving children, adults, families and organizations.
